X-1R
X-1R is a synthetic liquid lubricant that significantly reduces friction caused by the contact and movement of metal surfaces. This makes it versatile and suitable for a wide range of lubrication applications.
How does the X-1R work?
X-1R works differently from most other lubricants, which usually work on the principle of hydrodynamics. X-1R increases the density of metal surfaces mixed with iron, making the metal surface harder and smoother. For example, PTFE-based (i.e. Teflon-based) substances have a different effect, which, when added to oil, only cover the metal surface with a mass of particles. X-1R can be used as a lubricant without mixing it with other lubricants. However, in practice, it makes sense to use X-1R together with a regular lubricant according to the instructions for use. X-1R does not contain ingredients that are harmful to engines, gearboxes, transmissions, power steering, etc.
When a metal surface is treated with X-1R lubricant, the hardness of the metal surface increases significantly. On a bearing surface that may have a hardness of RC-35 (on the Rockwell C hardness curve), X-1R causes hardening to occur from RC-35 to RC-72. However, the hardened surface is thin due to the prevailing motion, heat and pressure.
The more heat and pressure there is on the metal surfaces, the better the X-1R sticks!
