Specifications for engine oils for VW Group cars ((Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda).

VW 500.00
Old specification for SAE 5W-X/10W-X oils. For cars manufactured until August 1999.

VW 501.01
Conventional oils for cars manufactured until August 1999. Oils approved after March 1997. They have already been given a newer specification
 
VW 502.00
Oils for petrol engines. Successor to VW 501.01 and VW 500.00 and newer specification. Recommended for engines operating under severe conditions. Must not be used in engines with different maintenance intervals or in engines with a different specification.

VW 503.00 Longlife II
Long-life (long-life) petrol engine oil for engines with WIV system (system for longer service intervals). Also meets ACEA A1, SAE 0W-30 or 5W-30 specifications.
 
VW 503.01 Longlife II
Specially for Audi models Audi RS4, Audi TT, S3 and Audi A8 6.0 V12 with more than 180 hp and with different maintenance intervals (30,000 km or 2 years). Now the successor of this specification is VW 504.00.

VW 504.00 Longlife III
Successor of VW 503 00 and VW 503.01. VW 504 00 is suitable for engines that meet the Euro IV emission standard.
Long-life (long-life) gasoline engine oil for engines with WIV system (system for longer service intervals).

VW 505.00
Passat diesel engine specification. Minimum efficiency level CCMC PD-2 Viscosities SAE 5W-50, 10W-50/60, 15W-40/50, 20W-40/50 which require a maximum of 13% evaporation loss and SAE 5W-30/40, 10W-30/40 which require a maximum of 15% evaporation loss
 
VW 505.01
Special oil for VW turbodiesel pump injector engines and also for V8 commonrail turbodiesel engines. Meets ACEA B4 SAE 5W-40 specification.

VW 506.00 Longlife II
Diesel engine oil with extended service intervals up to 50,000km or 2 years. Not suitable for use in single injector pump engines. The need for an oil change is indicated by an electronic indicator. Viscosity SAE 0W-30.

VW 506.01 Longlife II
Specially for "Pumpe-Düse" engines (unit injector or "PD" engines) with extended service intervals (30,000 - 50,000km / 24 months). The need for an oil change is indicated by an electronic indicator.
 
VW 507.00 Longlife III
Low SAPS longlife oils suitable for Euro 4 engines and almost all VAG diesel engines manufactured since 2000 with extended service intervals of 2 years or up to 30,000 km (may vary according to the car manufacturer's manual) and for "unitary injector pumps" and also "Pumpe-Düse" ("PD") engines. Not suitable for V10, R5 engines and VW commercial transmissions without DPF (diesel particulate filters) - these vehicles are suitable for 506 01 oil.

VW 508.00 Longlife IV
Gasoline engine oil requiring 0w20 viscosity, fuel-efficient oil with longlife additives. VW/Audi 2.0 TFSI 140 kW engines.

VW 509.00 Longlife IV
Diesel engine oil requiring 0w20 viscosity, fuel-efficient oil with longlife additives. VW/Audi 3.0 TDI CR 160 kW engines.
