Renault RN0700
Renault engine oil specification; introduced in 2007 after the introduction of Laguna III. General requirements: ACEA A3 / B4 or ACEA A5 / B5.

Renault RN0710
Renault engine oil specification; introduced in 2007 after the introduction of Laguna III. General requirements: ACEA A3 / B4 + additional Renault requirements.

Renault RN0720
Renault engine oil specification; introduced in 2007 after the introduction of Laguna III. General requirements: ACEA C3 + additional Renault requirements. RN0720 is designed for use in the latest generation of diesel engines equipped with DPF.

Gear oils

Transself NFJ (replacement for Transself TRJ)
API GL-5 mechanical transmission oil for Renault J series transmissions built with bronze synchronizer rings.

Tranself NFP (replacement for Tranself TRX and Tranself TRZ)
API GL-5 level, high performance gear oils for heavy duty vehicles. Excellent shear stability and anti-foam properties.

Tranself TRP
API GL-5 level mechanical transmission oil for Renault PK6 series transmissions built with bronze synchronizer rings.

Tranself TRT
API GL-5 level mechanical transmission oil for Renault JR5 series transmissions built with bronze synchronizer rings.

Tranself NFX 75W
The latest Renault manual transmission oil standard (from 2020+).
It is a universal replacement oil that retroactively covers both NFJ and NFP requirements.
Lower viscosity provides better fuel economy and smoother gear shifting in cold weather.
 

Renault Automatic Transmissions

Renault Matic D2 A mineral ATF oil for older torque-converter automatic gearboxes and power steering systems.
Meets the Dexron II-D standard.

Renault Matic D3 (DP0) A synthetic ATF oil specially designed for the Renault DP0 (4-speed) automatic transmission.
Ensures proper operation of the valve body (hydraulic control unit) and reduces friction.
Meets the Dexron III standard.

Renault Matic J6 (AJ0) A special low-viscosity ATF oil intended exclusively for the AJ0 (Jatco) 6-speed automatic transmission
(used in models such as Laguna III, Espace IV, Latitude).

Renault CVT Fluid (FK0/FK8) A special fluid for Renault continuously variable transmissions (CVT)(e.g., Koleos, Kadjar, Megane). Provides the required friction coefficient between the metal belt and pulleys. Must not be replaced with regular ATF oil.

 

EDC (Dual-Clutch Transmissions)

Renault EDC DC4 (BOT 450) Transmission oil for 6-speed EDC gearboxes with dry clutches (Getrag 6DCT250). Used with smaller engines (e.g., 1.5 dCi, 1.2 TCe). Viscosity: 75W.

Renault EDC DW6 / DW5 Synthetic oil for 6- and 7-speed EDC gearboxes with wet clutches (Getrag). Ensures clutch cooling and gear lubrication. Timely oil replacement is critically important.

 

Differentials and Transfer Cases

Renault Universal GL-5 A hypoid gear oil designed for rear differentials and transfer cases (e.g., Duster 4x4, Koleos). Typically viscosity 80W-90 or 75W-90. Must meet the API GL-5 standard.
