Using car jump leads
If your vehicle does not start, which can happen especially in the winter, it is possible to draw power from the battery of another vehicle with the starter wires and start the car with an empty battery. It is also possible to use the car's start assist device.

Use of trigger wires (so-called crocodiles):
1. Place the vehicles so that the helping car with a full battery does not touch the car with a dead battery.
2. Turn off all electrical consumers.
3. The gear levers of both vehicles should be in neutral.
4. Connect the red wire clip to the positive (+) terminals of both batteries (first to the full battery of the assisting vehicle, then to the dead battery).
5. Connect the clip of the black wire to the negative (-) terminals of both batteries (first the full battery of the assisting vehicle, then the clip of the black wire to any metal part of the car, such as the body, on a vehicle with a flat battery).
6. Make sure the wires do not touch moving motor parts.
7. Start the car with a full battery and let the engine run for a few minutes so that the empty battery has time to charge a little before starting.
8. Start the vehicle with a dead battery. If it does not start immediately, turn off the engine of the car with a dead battery and try to start it again after a few minutes. Do not use the cables to start the engine for more than 10-15 seconds.
9. After a successful start, with the engine running, remove the clamps by reversing the procedure, first disconnecting the negative (-) clamp (black wire) and then the red (+) clamp.

The parameters of the starter wires must be proportional to the amount of current consumed by the battery starter. The cable insulation must not be damaged.
A too long start, during which it is not possible to start the car, can also discharge the full battery of the assisting car, so it would be necessary to check after several starting attempts whether the problem is not a dead battery, but some other fault with the car.
If the vehicle is still started, the car should be driven for a long time (at least 30 minutes in a row) before turning it off, as a result of which the car's generator will charge the battery while driving.
A big problem is when the car is often driven on short trips. For example, the distance between work and home in the city is only 5 km at a time. With such continuous short trips, the car consumes electricity every time it is started, and during a short trip, the generator does not have enough time to charge the battery again. To avoid this, it is worth taking a longer drive from time to time, at least 30 minutes in a row, if possible even longer. A similar problem is especially big in the winter, so the car battery should be fully charged with a battery charger a few times during the winter.
