leather repair kit - a convenient and easy-to-use kit for restoring surfaces made of natural and artificial leather and vinyl. it can be used both for the repair of car interior upholstery and panels, as well as for the repair of furniture, leather clothes, shoes, bags and suitcases, haberdashery, as well as the seats and roofs of boats, motorcycles and other motor vehicles in everyday life. convertibles and the like.

features:
- repairs holes, cracks, cuts, burns, as well as dents on leather and vinyl surfaces;
- the set includes heat-resistant repair mixtures of seven colors, which allow you to get any shades when mixed. the shade corresponding to the treated surface can be selected using the attached table;
- the set includes three sheets of heat-resistant paper with the most common leather and vinyl textures;
- the desired result is achieved without significant expenses.

usage:
1. prepare and clean the affected area.
clean the affected area with a household vacuum cleaner. make sure the area is dry before starting work. carefully cut off the frayed areas and excess threads, as well as the charred edges, with scissors or a knife. when burning, remove all charred material. give smooth edges to the damaged area - a hole should appear in the material with smooth edges.
2. insert a loom under the damaged area. use the spatula to push the fabric under the hole in step 1. to repair holes larger than 6 mm, cut the fabric backing slightly larger than the resulting hole. use a spatula to level the fabric base. glue the fabric base from the inside with vinyl glue. dry with a hair dryer.
3. select a heat-resistant paper whose texture best matches the texture of the damaged surface. draw an outline of the damaged area on the back of the selected sheet of heat-resistant paper. this will allow you to correctly place the heat transfer point of the tool in point 8.
4. repair deep damage. for deep damage, such as on a vinyl dashboard, use clear vinyl adhesive with filler and a putty knife to level the damaged area to the level of the original surface. the glue shrinks slightly as it dries, leaving a gap that is later filled with colored repair compound.
5. use the color selection table or empirically determine a set of correction compositions that, when mixed, will create the required shade. mix the required amount of this kit in a mixing bowl to achieve the desired shade. check the shade by rubbing a small amount of the mixture on an undamaged surface, then wipe it off with a cloth.
6. apply repair compound. once the vinyl adhesive has dried, apply the mixture evenly and gently to the affected area with a spatula. wipe the excess around the hole or damage. do not cover the affected area.
7. place heat-resistant textured paper on the area to be repaired. glue it over the repair compound, making sure the marked outline is directly above the damaged area. don't move it. if the repair is on a vertical surface, tape the paper on top.
8. heat treatment. this is a very important step in the repair process. turn on the iron and let it heat up to a high temperature for at least four minutes. place the tip of the heat transfer tool directly on the iron and allow the iron to warm up for a few minutes. then press the tool against the work contour on heat-resistant paper and stroke the repaired area with little effort in circular movements for 20-30 seconds. remove the heat-resistant paper from the repaired area.
