1896 is the year it all begins: the entry in the commercial register. At the end of the 19th century, the decorative painters Brueckmann, Boysen and Weber ran a "painting school for decorative wall design" in Elberfeld. The first products sold were copper stencils.

1919 Takeover and expansion of Wilhelm Greten. Establishment of a factory for brushes, rollers and painting tools.
In 1952, Wilhelm Greten's son-in-law, Jr. Rogusch, took over the management of the company.
