After some time, it may be useful to replace the guide bushings of the ATE floating brake calipers (rubber). Often the mounting hole in the caliper housing is more or less corroded. This will cause the guide bushing to be crushed and the guide pins may become displaced
stuck in them. This limits the movement of the brake caliper, which can cause other braking problems.
After removing the old guide bushings, use an ATE sanding brush to polish the mounting holes in the caliper housing to a bright metal finish. It is best to use a battery-powered screwdriver that runs at a maximum of 500 rpm clockwise (to the right). After cleaning the holes in the caliper housing, apply a thin layer of ATE Plastilube to them. This prevents new corrosion and makes installing new guide bushings easier.
Hint:
■ Attention: Never grease the inside of the guide sleeves or the guide pins. These sliding surfaces black remain dry.
Security:
■ Maximum speed: 500 rpm
■ Run clockwise only
