polishing discs are generally used as follows:

- hard drives. the polishing process is started with hard disks, coarse-grained pastes are used. the process is called grinding, in English cutting.
- middle discs. after sanding with a hard disk, switch to a medium hardness polishing disk using a medium hardness polishing paste. this part of the process is usually called polishing.
- soft discs. after polishing, switch to a soft disc and the smallest-grained polishing paste. polishing with a soft disc is the last stage of the whole process and is usually called final finishing.
- often the car is also polished with only one disk and one paste, i.e. in a so-called one-step process. the best result is not achieved this way, many scratches remain unpolished, but the car can still have a shine. generally, a polishing paste with a medium hardness is used
and medium hard drive. - in some manufacturers, the color of the polishing disc corresponds to the color of the cap of the polishing paste.
that is, if you have a bottle of polishing paste with a green cap, this paste is used with a green polishing disc from the same manufacturer. manufacturers that use this system are, for example, 3m and k2.
