using this function we can make measurements relative to the selected point. this feature is useful when comparing multiple test locations in a car. for example, we select a reference point on the left front door and then make measurements in other parts of the car (first select the material "reference point" from the menu option). when measuring in this way, e.g. on the roof we get a result of -10um, which means that the varnish layer on the roof is 10um thinner than on the left front door. the reference point is not deleted when the meter is turned off.

adaptation to other metals.
in addition, this function can be used to program some other sheet metal(s). when setting a reference point, it is enough to do it from a clean sheet, and from now on, after choosing the material as a "reference point", we can now take measurements on such a sheet.

the meter has compensation, thanks to which it calibrates automatically, but accurate calibration is always possible using a calibration plate.

pay attention to meters without calibration plates - in such meters, the measurement error soon increases, because the probe wears (rubs off) and additionally affects the aging of the electronic components. therefore, even meters worth several thousand zlotys come with calibration plates and a calibration function.
