combination wrenches are made of different materials. in order of strength, the materials are as follows:
1. cr-mo chrome molybdenum. very durable. made from a combination of chromium, molybdenum, iron and carbon alloy elements. it has stronger impact resistance and durability than chrome vanadium.
2. cr-v chrome vanadium. durable material. it has better strength and toughness than carbon steel, so it is an excellent material for high-quality tools. usually used for wrenches, screwdrivers.
3. alloy steel is a type of steel that has certain other elements in addition to iron and carbon. elements commonly added to alloy steel are manganese, silicon, boron, chromium, vanadium and nickel. the amount of these metals in alloy steel depends mainly on the use of such steel. alloy steel is usually made to obtain the desired physical properties in the steel.
4. carbon steel- iron carbon alloy. depending on the carbon content, carbon steel can be divided into low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and high carbon steel. the higher the carbon content, the higher the hardness and the lower the toughness. hand tools are usually made of high carbon steel because of its high hardness and strength. but it is not suitable for making a screwdriver (easily broken) because it is weak. however, it is widely used in some general purpose hand tool materials such as wrenches.
