universal clamp meter vorel 81801 allows you to make basic electrical measurements. for some measured values, the meter itself can select a range depending on the measurement result. the meter is equipped with test clamps that allow you to inductively measure alternating current in a single wire without having to disconnect the circuit or disconnect it from the power source. this method also allows measuring much higher currents than conventional electricity meters.

- formula for calculating measurement error: (measurement result x 2.5%) + 10 x resolution
- calculations: (30 x 2.5%) + 10 x 0.1 = 0.75 + 1 = 1.75 a

*the 81801 meter does not have a real rms measurement function, therefore the above result is consistent with the real situation only for the correct sine wave form.
built-in features:
- auto - automatic adjustment of the measurement range. when measuring unknown values with a meter whose range can be changed manually by means of a button, measurements should be made sequentially from the largest range to the range that gives the most accurate result - otherwise there is a risk of damaging the device. however, with a multimeter with auto function, one measurement is enough and the meter automatically finds the optimal range. by default, the meter starts in auto mode

attention!
current measurement with clamp meters is done only on one wire, one cable. attaching clamps to multi-core cable without disconnecting one wire will give a false result or zero current.
