gl-smart app
The gl-smart application developed for Android allows you to connect the smart series to a color meter. depending on the meter model, we get a number of new functions that are not available in conventional meters. the app currently runs on android version 6 or higher. after all, it is available from version 5. App updates provided by the manufacturer are free. the advantage of the application is that it is constantly being improved and expanded. gl-smart app can be downloaded from google play store.

gl-smart is intuitive to use. after launch, the main desktop will appear, allowing you to choose one of the following options:

- basic measurement;
- professional measurement;
- catalog of measurements;
- calibration.

attention. after launching the application or after selecting a certain function, the application may ask for permission to access location and camera and multimedia. location permission is required for bluetooth 4 to work, it is a technical requirement of android. we do not collect phone location information.

basic measurement
after selecting this function, a list of detected meters is displayed - select one of them. the application enters measurement mode in the main view. when switching to the "extended view", additional functions appear: a table with a list of measurements, a graph with measurements and the option to save measurements in the measurements directory. to measure, you should also go to the measurement function in the menu of the measuring device. after installing the meter on the car body, the measurement result is displayed on the LCD screen of the meter and in the gl-smart application.

professional measurement
it allows measurement by dividing the body into individual parts. a graphic is displayed where the car is divided into individual fragments. after selecting a fragment you will this a view like the image on the left. we perform the measurement in the same way as described in the "basic measurement" function. in the professional mode, it is also possible to save the measurements in the form of a protocol.

catalog of measurements
it contains saved measurements divided into professional (icons with a dark blue border) and basic (icons with a green border). by selecting a given measurement file, we have the option to edit data such as make, engine, model, mileage, measurement performance data, conclusions, etc. in addition, the professional measurement file has the function of exporting the data to a pdf file in the form of a report.

calibration
by selecting this function, it is possible to calibrate the meter. follow the instructions.

measurement assistant® function on the glucometer screen and in the gl-smart application
the function informs the appraiser of the car whether it has undergone body and paint repair.

the function informs about the status of the sheet metal via the built-in led diode:

-led does not light - the varnish is correct;
- pulsating diode - second varnish layer;
-led lights up - putty. In addition, the meter gives a signal using sound signals:
- no sound - varnish correct;
-intermittent sound - second coat of varnish;
- continuous sound - putty. The gl-smart application uses a solution that consists in changing the colors of the frame along with the measurement:
-green – correct varnish;
-yellow – second varnish layer;
- red - putty;
and an additional text message appears below the frame. it should be noted that the measurement assistant® function is only an aid in the interpretation of measurements, it cannot be the basis for an unequivocal answer to the question of whether the car has had body and paint repairs. however, many car appraisers don't really know what a given paint thickness means, so the above feature is helpful in that regard.
