Liqui Moly was founded in 1957 in Ulm. The company's first product was an oil additive primarily containing liquid molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), and it also gave the company its name. If the additive was added to the engine oil, it ensured the operation of the engine in case the oil was lost from the engine, for example, the plane could make an emergency landing after the oil tank was damaged.
